Swiss Consumer Confidence Improves Strongly In Q4
Thursday November 05, 2009 02:02:00 EST
(RTTNews) - Switzerland consumer confidence indicator increased to minus 14 in the fourth quarter from minus 39 in the third quarter, the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs or SECO said on Thursday. The confidence indicator in the third quarter was revised from minus 42 reported initially. Economists expected the index to be minus 38.
The improvement in consumer sentiment was mainly due to a more optimistic assessment of the expected economic situation and anticipation of a less pronounced rise in unemployment in the next twelve months, the SECO said.
